Billing and Financial FAQs
Each semester the College has a specific refund policy tied to the semester add/drop dates. The Tuition & Fee Refund Policy can be found on your billing notification, in the college booklet, The Q, and in the Business Office. Please refer to that policy for exact dates and penalties.
If you are not attending one or more of your classes, you must drop the class if you do not wish to be financially responsible for the charges. Please contact the Advising Center by e-mail at advising@qcc.mass.edu or by phone at 508.854.4308 to officially drop any class you do not plan to attend before the end of the published add/drop period. If you are receiving a financial aid award, please consult with the Financial Aid Office before dropping out, as your financial aid eligibility may be affected.
The law requires schools to send this information to each eligible taxpayer and to the IRS. However the IRS does not require taxpayers to submit 1098T forms when filing tax returns.
Students eligible for a 1098T will receive an email to their student email account. Students who have given the College permission to deliver the form electronically will have a link to the form in this email. The 2022 1098T forms will be mailed to eligible students who have not consented to receive the form electronically at their preferred address on record with Quinsigamond Community College by January 31, 2024. To print a duplicate copy, please refer to the instructions listed below. All eligible students have been sent notification of their 1098T availability via student email.
For each calendar year, we report the dollar amount paid for qualified tuition and related expenses. This amount appears in box 1 of the 1098T form. We also report the total dollar amount of scholarships and grants, administered and processed by the school, in box 5 of the 1098T. These forms do not contain specific payment information.
Please be aware that if a student’s tuition and fees were covered in full by financial aid grants and/or scholarships, a student will not be eligible for a 1098T. If a student has loans, a 1098E may be issued once the student starts paying back the loan, but not while the student is still in school.
Students and parents are advised to use personal financial records and consult professional tax advisors to determine the qualifying amount for tax purposes as the College cannot determine if a student qualifies for the tax credit or supply tax advice.
