The Center for Career Services & Credit for Prior Learning celebrated QCC co-op students this month with a breakfast honoring the work done by co-op participants and the guidance provided by employer partners.

"This is a unique opportunity for our students to take everything they learned in the classroom and operationalize it in a real-time environment," said Vice President of Academic Affairs Kathy Rentsch, adding that co-ops provide students with a foundation of social capital that will play a vital role as they progress in their professional lives.

Chris Tousignant (class of 2016) completed a co-op while obtaining his Computer Information Systems degree and spoke at the event as a testament to the power of QCC's co-op programs. Tousignant is currently the senior developer and architect for Nichols College and has come full circle as a participating co-op employer partner.

Coordinator of Careers Services & Credit for Prior Learning Nichole Wheeler noted that during the 24/25 academic year, over 60 students participated in co-ops throughout 10 programs including Manufacturing Technology, Business Administration and Recreation Management.
