QCC's recent Transfer Fair proved to be a remarkable success, drawing approximately 130 students, who had the opportunity to connect with representatives from 47 universities and colleges and gain information for the next step of their academic journeys.

Following the main event, eight institutions participated in an extended discussion with QCC Transfer Services. These productive conversations covered crucial topics including:

  • Fall enrollment statistics
  • Distribution of online versus in-person students
  • Part-time and full-time student ratios
  • Popular majors for the fall semester
  • Strategies for enhancing collaboration between QCC and four-year partners

One of QCC's dedicated student ambassadors, Nick, provided campus tours to five transfer admission counselors, giving them firsthand insight into the College's facilities and student life.

The event received enthusiastic feedback from participating institutions, that noted strong attendance and meaningful student engagement. Students who demonstrated exceptional initiative in their conversations with transfer admissions representatives were rewarded with university merchandise, all of which found new homes by the fair's conclusion.

Representatives from various institutions shared valuable insights for prospective transfer students:

"It starts with the Transfer Center here—be proactive, use the resources and ask a lot of questions," emphasized Nick Washburn from Emerson College.

A spokesperson from Bryant University highlighted the importance of campus involvement as a key factor in transfer student success.

Addressing concerns about larger institutions, Steven Dunn from the University of Connecticut encouraged students to be proactive in connecting with faculty and staff through scheduled appointments and to seek assistance when needed. He added, "If you're not feeling it in the first few weeks, hang on and try to find a group at the involvement fair."

The success of this Transfer Fair demonstrates QCC's ongoing commitment to supporting students in their academic progression and fostering strong relationships with our four-year partner institutions.
