As August comes to a close, we're gearing up for an exciting start to the Fall 2024 semester at QCC! We're thrilled to welcome both new and returning students on Wednesday, September 4, for the first day of classes. Here's what you need to know to get into the spirit and ensure a smooth start for everyone.
All College Day: Future of Higher Education
Join us on Tuesday, September 3, for our annual All College Day, focused on the "Future of Higher Education."
Schedule:
- 8:00 – 9:00 a.m.: Coffee & Tea in Hebert Auditorium Foyer
- 9:00 – 10:30 a.m.: All College Day Program in Hebert Auditorium
- Welcome & Personnel Updates
- Recognition of NISOD Award Recipients
- President's Address: "Higher Education: 2029"
- Special Presentation by Dr. Noe Ortega, MA Commissioner of Higher Education
Note: Campus offices will open for regular business at 10:30 a.m.
- 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.: Food Truck Lunch on the Quad Enjoy local favorites like The Dogfather, Easy Street Tacos, and Mac Daddy, plus refreshments and ice cream!
- 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.: Academic Affairs Mini Conference Open to all QCC staff and faculty members. Sign up for sessions here.

Student Support Highlights
As we prepare for the new semester, remember that we are here to support our students' success. It's a great idea to familiarize yourself with QCC's services so you can direct students to the appropriate resources when needed. The list below contains some of the offices that students (as well as faculty and staff) might need during the start of classes. The links provide more information such as office locations, hours and contact info.
- Academic Advising: Guidance on course selection and degree planning
- Bookstore: Textbooks, supplies, technology and apparel
- Business Office: Where students view and pay their bills for tuition and fees
- Campus Police: Help with parking and safety on campus
- Counseling Services: Mental health support and resources
- Dining Services: Cafeterias on campus
- Financial Aid Office: Assistance with scholarships, grants, and loans
- HomePlate Food Pantry & Resource Center: Provides provides food for students in need as well as resources to help with other challenges.

- Library: Print and online books, articles and more with assistance from librarians
- Parenting Support Services: Provides assistance so that student parents can navigate QCC, get connected to campus and community resources, access child care and emergency funding, build community, and more.

- Tutoring Center: Free tutoring in various subjects
