Student Accessibility Services has implemented a new software for student accommodations

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) is excited to announce the rollout of AIM (Accessible Information Management), a new software that will streamline the management of student accommodations. SAS is extremely excited to work with faculty to ensure access for students with disabilities and reduce systematic and educational barriers with the launch of AIM.

How does the process work for students?

Students who have completed the SAS Intake process and whose eligibility for academic accommodations has been approved, now gain access to a student profile in AIM. From there, they can request their accommodation letter for each semester’s classes. Once a student submits their request through AIM, their assigned SAS Coordinator will review, approve, and send the accommodation letter to faculty.

How do I know if a student in my course has an accommodation?

When a student submits a request for an accommodation letter to be sent and it has been approved by the SAS Coordinator, both the faculty and the student will receive a message to their QCC email containing the accommodation letter.

The email will come directly from the student’s SAS Coordinator. If you have any questions or concerns, you can respond to the email, and it will go directly to the coordinator.

The accommodation letter contains a section labeled "Approved Accommodations for Student" where you will see the specifics of the plan for your student.

How do I log into AIM?

Simply go to http://bona.accessiblelearning.com/MassQCC and enter your QCC email and password. You are more than welcome to save and bookmark the webpage, but please log out when you are not using AIM for security purposes and refrain from logging into AIM on shared computers.

Where do I see all of my students' accommodations?

After logging into AIM, you will be prompted to review the Access Policy which covers confidentiality and FERPA regulations. Then click "Continue to View Student Accommodations". This is where you will see every student who has requested accommodations for your course. You can view or download each student's accommodation letter.

What if I have my own system for accommodation record keeping?

Through the AIM portal, you can still download a PDF file of a student's accommodation letter for your own records.

Can I do anything else in the AIM portal?

SAS will gradually open modules within AIM that will address testing accommodations, notetaking accommodations, alternative formats, and more.

What if I have more questions about student accommodations or need technical assistance with AIM?
