Lunch and Learn: Trauma-Informed Teaching & Learning

This informal discussion about trauma-informed teaching will illustrate how to support QCC's student population by developing trusting connections with students to foster resilience. Professors of Early Childhood Education Karen O'Neill and Julie Tzipori, will also present information gathered from the Trauma and Resilience in Higher Education Conference that took place in April 2023.

Burnout Prevention & Recovery

Award-winning speaker Maria Milagros returns to campus with a new professional development workshop that will use stories and data-driven techniques to bring participants back to building a strong foundation to re-calibrate their nervous system and thrive in their decision-making and lives. Attendees will walk away equipped to take control of their current condition, whether recovering from or preventing burnout.

Psi Beta and Psychology Club Lecture Series and Social Justice Speaker Series: Chantale Zuzi

After surviving devastating violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Chantale Zuzi found safety in the U.S. She urges everyone to consider the problem of displacement with curiosity and compassion - and offers refugees like her a powerful message of hope. This event is open to the public.

Womxn's Luncheon

The DEI office along with QCC’s Health & Wellness team are proud to sponsor a Womxn’s Symposium, featuring a luncheon and an engaging panel discussion and Resource Fair and Womxn-Owned Business Expo. The goal is to create a safe and inspiring space where all self-identifying womxn from all walks of life can come together to empower one another, engage in meaningful conversations, offer mentorship and expand their networks, as well as highlight community resources and womxn-owned businesses. This event is open to the public.

This event will include:

  • A luncheon and compelling group of womxn panelists
  • Keynote speaker: Dr. Nicole Johnson, Director of Educational Equity & Justice, Massachusetts Department of Higher Education
  • Entertainment by K Fingers, a New England based R&B, Hip-Hop and Jazz-Funk Keyboardist, producer and performer.
  • Resource Fair and Womxn-Owned Business Expo
