Ongoing Run, Hide, Fight Training
As we wind down the year, thus far 121 students, faculty and staff have taken the first step in the three-part Run, Hide, Fight program. Training is being offered by Community Resources Officer Nicholas Yacuzzi and Sergeant William McGuinness II at both the main campus (670 West Boylston St., Worcester) on Tuesdays and Thursdays and on QCC’s Federal St. Worcester location.
“Step One was watching a video, a PowerPoint, along with discussion and instruction,” said Deputy Chief of Administration, Reynaldo Rodriguez, who noted that all the training was done in person.
Once Step One is completed, college members can attend Step Two, which is more of a hands-on training. To date, 26 people have taken the Step Two training.
If you haven’t started Step One of the Active Threat/Run, Hide, Fight Training program, there is still time to attend. Both Step One and Step Two trainings will be offered in the spring, with ultimately Step Three to follow.
“The importance of attending these Run, Hide, Fight trainings cannot be overstated. Understanding what to do in a crisis situation is a key component in keeping safe,” said QCC Deputy Chief of Operations, Steve DiGiovanni.
