As an employer, investing in the training and development of employees is essential. QCC’s Center for Workforce Development & Continuing Education’s training programs offer a cost-effective solution for employers to upskill and reskill their employees to meet the demands of an ever-changing job market. Many employers will qualify for free training through the Workforce Training Fund Grant Program.
On Wednesday, February 22 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., the CWDCE will host a virtual info session to learn more about the benefits of the Workforce Training Fund Grant Program and receive tips for the application process.
"Smart companies access these funds immediately. Businesses already pay into these grants on a regular basis from their employment insurance contributions," said Corporate Development Specialist John McCarthy. "QCC can set up the training or employers can access preapproved courses. We can cover hard technical skills such as CNC and phlebotomy or soft skills like leadership."
McCarthy and fellow Corporate Development Specialist Sean Harris recently appeared on the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce podcast to promote the info session and QCC's workforce offerings. Harris referenced the pandemic's effects on employment and how opportunities like the Workforce Training Fund Grant Program help to support a robust workforce and economy.
