New Women's Basketball Coach
The QCC Wyverns Women's Basketball team has a new head coach, Andy Lynch. Coach Lynch has been involved with basketball since the mid-1980s, coaching at all age levels. He has served as a board member and coach for the Chelmsford Youth Basketball League (CYBL) for nearly 15 years, previously serving as the girls’ travel director and now as president of CYBL. In addition, he has also coached for a number of Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) clubs in the area.
“I have always viewed lessons learned in athletics as key components to an individual’s success in life. Preparation, teamwork, leadership, trust, and belief in oneself, are skills all students need as they traverse their collegiate pursuits and eventually professional careers," said Coach Lynch. "This is what I focus on as a coach. I work hard to make sure players leave the gym with their heads high, feeling they contributed to the team effort, and thirsting to get back out there and to love the game."
Coach Lynch believes that serving as a head coach requires much more than just what takes place on the court. Having spent the last 30-plus years in corporate positions of leadership, he brings experience in building and mentoring diversified teams, cultivating long-lasting relationships, driving continuous improvement, and promoting brand identity.
“These skills are equally necessary to further the success of the program and the ideals of the school,” he added.
When not coaching, Coach Lynn spends time volunteering for both Lahey Medical Health Center and the Beth Israel Lahey Health system, focusing on the areas of patient experience, quality, and diversification in healthcare.
