In an exciting move to enhance student support and success, QCC has recently implemented the Navigate360 student success platform. This powerful tool is already making a significant impact on our campus, providing faculty, advisors and students with a hub for communication, scheduling, early alerts and more. Navigate360, which was implemented in June, has replaced Starfish and the John LeFave notes system and uses clean, accurate data.
One of the key features of Navigate 360 is the ability for faculty to raise alerts for a variety of reasons, such as attendance issues, academic struggles, or even a kudos to recognize a student's great work. These alerts are then communicated to academic advisors, allowing them to intervene and provide the necessary support.
As Executive Director of Distance/Online Learning and CAE Brooks Winchell noted, "Navigate360 can have a huge impact on student success."
The platform also facilitates seamless communication between faculty and advisors. Advisors can now easily access case information and collaborate with instructors to ensure each student receives the personalized attention they need. Additionally, faculty and staff can create a clickable link to their availability which integrates with Microsoft Outlook, making it simple for students to schedule appointments.
“Navigate is a game changer for the way in which we can work with our students. With this new system, we can provide more targeted support to our students, be that through an alert or referral, a messaging campaign, or an early alert outreach," said Executive Director of Advising, Testing, Career & Transfer Services Dr. Amy Carmack. "To date, we have already created over 6,600 appointments for over 4,300 unique students, which is an outstanding number of interactions. We will be able to engage, collaborate and empower our students so they have best experience at QCC possible.”
Navigate360 also includes a feature for targeted messaging campaigns via email and, in the near future, text messages. These campaigns can be tailored to specific academic programs, specialty tracks or demographic groups, ensuring that each student receives the most relevant information.
The system also includes an app for students, giving them access to a wealth of resources, including academic information, hold status and the ability to schedule appointments with the student success team. Students can even use the platform to find study partners. The app can be downloaded in the App Store or Google Play.
Winchell commented that Navigate360 has robust reporting components including predictive analytics. The predictive analytics are scheduled to roll out in the Spring 2025 semester, which will provide risk scores for students, enabling QCC staff to proactively identify and support those who may be facing challenges.
The implementation of Navigate360 represents a significant step forward in QCC's commitment to student success. By leveraging this innovative technology, QCC is empowering faculty, staff and students to work together more effectively, ultimately leading to improved outcomes for all. encourage everyone to engage with Navigate360 and explore the many ways it can enhance the academic journeys of our students.
