A postcard estimated to be from around 1950, gives a glimpse into the past of what QCC's campus used to look like. The card, found by Carpenter II Erik Golden, was a view of the campus of Assumption Preparatory School, the institution that was housed in what is now QCC's Administration Building. The school relocated after the 1953 tornado caused immense damage, killing 94 people including two nuns and one priest at Assumption.

An approximate translation of the description on the back of the card that is written in French reads: "A corner of campus. This college was founded in 1904 in the Greendale district by the Assumptionist Fathers. It is dedicated to the secondary education of young French-American Catholic men."

According to Coordinator of Library Collection Development Michael Stevenson the postcard, which is now part of the archives in the library, might depict the view from what is now the grotto in the quad. How the times have changed!
