The Office of Health and Wellness ran another successful blood drive to support the Rhode Island Blood Center. Over 40 people participated in the drive, resulting in over 20 donations, several of which were double red donations. Double red donations take two units of red blood cells and give plasma, platelets and saline back to the donor, which reduce the feelings of dehydration and tiredness. Those two units of blood go where they are needed most such as an emergency room or trauma unit.
"We are so proud of our QCC community. Everyone stepped up make this blood drive a tremendous success," said Director of Health and Wellness Heather Lukas.
