The QCC community truly came out to support each other this holiday season for a variety of causes.
The Veteran Affairs Office expressed immense gratitude to everyone who donated turkeys, canned goods, fresh produce, socks, underwear and shirts that ensure QCC's veterans can spend the holidays in comfort with full bellies and warm clothes.
Once again the Stuff-A-Cruiser event kept with tradition by collecting a large haul of gifts and toys that will go to parenting students at QCC. A big thank you to everyone who donated to help lighten the holiday load of our students.
In other giving news, in November, Human Services alum Hilda Maldonado helped facilitate the Green Island Community Center Thanksgiving distribution day, which donated over 270 dinners as well as clothing and household items to 250 local families.
"I was speechless by the overall need and beyond impressed with our recent graduate Hilda who ran the event seamlessly," said Associate Professor of Human Services Anthony Yeulenski, who also donated items from his consignment store for the event.
The Human Services Club also held a gift drive for two Worcester elementary schools that brought in a massive amount of toys, games and accessories and is guaranteed to spread holiday cheer to a lot of families in our community.
Thanks to our wonderful QCC community!
