Last December, the HomePlate Food Pantry & Resource Center purchased a refrigerated truck in order to increase its ability to provide access to fresh food. The van was purchased with funds from the Greater Worcester Community Foundation.
This month the van got some fresh graphics and is in full swing, picking up food from Worcester County Food Bank and Wegman's, in addition to making deliveries at the downtown campus. Deliveries to QCC at Worcester Senior Center and QCC at Southbridge are in the works as well! This vital resource will help us battle food insecurity on our campuses.
